Modern Art West showcases museum-quality Bay Area art, including paintings, sculptures, and works on paper, from the modern and post-war periods. The gallery specializes in historical California art movements, with a particular focus on Abstract Expressionism and women artists.
The gallery founders have researched Bay Area art for several decades, curated more than 50 exhibitions at accredited museums, and contributed essays and articles to scholarly exhibition catalogues. Modern Art West works closely with several artists’ estates and major collections. The gallery maintains access to more than 100 noted artists from the Bay Area’s modern and post-war eras.

Addison Gallery of American Art (MA), Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University, Crocker Art Museum, de Young Museum (FAMSF), Female Artists of the Mougins Museum (FR), Fresno Art Museum, the Jay DeFeo Foundation, Monterey Museum of Art, Nevada Museum of Art, the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art (UT), San Jose Museum of Art, and SFMOMA among others.

Mission
Modern Art West provides consulting and advisory art services, including collection building, art installation, and shipping, as well as fine art appraisal. Modern Art West seeks to promote the visual arts in our community by contributing to local educational efforts and supporting regional art initiatives.
